    Book Folding – Always

As 2022 fast approached I made the decision that in January I would dedicate my book folding to Harry Potter. This is the first of 3 planned books and is a design I have wanted to do for a very long time. I have seen many other designs, in all sorts of crafting, where the A in the famous “Always” quote was replaced by the Deathly Hallows symbol which I have always liked. I decided to replicate this and also add in some other Potter symbols so my design features the elder wand, golden snitch and of course the famous lightning bolt scar. The final result ended up being very…

    Book Folding – Pride Flag

Back in June I wanted to celebrate Pride month with a book fold so I decided to create the progressive pride flag within the word pride as a combi book fold. I figured a simple design would not take too long, however it became my longest project taking a full month to complete. This book, which was over 600 pages, was the largest book I have folded to date. It was also the most repetitive which caused me to struggle to work on it for long periods at a time. Book Folding – Galway Crest

I decided to make a folded book for my Brother-in-Law that represents where he is from, so I planned to make a coat of arms or a flag of Galway, Ireland. I decided this before seeing what their flag actually was. It took a while to make the pattern as I had to make a few edits, making sure all the detail would be shown on the finished book. I did wonder if i could use the pattern on a laptop screen for future projects whilst printing out all 18 pages for this book. I’m glad to say I have found a way! This book fold was very fiddly, in…

Book Folding – Cat Catching Music.

We all know how much a cat loves to knock things out of place. I am a firm believer that if musical notes were physical entities they would never be heard in order because cats would be knocking them off the piano. This book fold is for my sister. She is the absolute defination of a cat lady, in a good way of course. Along with being an artist, she is also a music teacher which is why i thought this would make the perfect christmas gift for her. This was the first pattern I made using the Bookami software having previously made the design on photoshop. I was worried…
