Bringing Santa to Life in a Cut and Fold Book

There’s something truly magical about working on Christmas designs, and this Santa book was no exception. From the very first page, I knew this would be a festive favourite.

Crafting Santa

This Santa Cut and Fold Book features a detailed depiction of Santa Claus, complete with his iconic hat and cheerful expression. It’s an inverted (debossed) cut and fold design, finished with black cardstock to enhance the contrast and make every curve of the design stand out beautifully.

I used a hardback book with 549 pages, which turned out to be the perfect size for this pattern. It allowed just enough space to show off the fine detail around Santa’s face and hat without distorting the overall shape.

Unlike some of my more complex designs, this one was a smooth and enjoyable make from start to finish — the perfect festive project to work on as the weather turns colder.

Festive Spirit

There’s something special about seeing Santa appear from the pages of a book. It captures the wonder of Christmas and makes for a beautiful handmade decoration or gift. I can imagine this one sitting proudly on a mantelpiece surrounded by twinkling lights, or given as a thoughtful gift for a Christmas lover.

Behind the Pages

For this design, I didn’t need to make any major adjustments — everything came together just as I hoped. The clean lines of the fold and the dark backing card give it a lovely bold look that feels both traditional and modern.

It’s always satisfying when a project turns out exactly as planned, and this Santa design is one I’ll definitely be revisiting each festive season.
