The Flame Grows Hotter: Pokémon #005 Charmeleon (Pokémon Day Special Part 2!)

The Pokémon Day week celebration continues! Part two of the fire-starter trio release is here with #005 Charmeleon. A Retro Ignition: Pokémon #004 Charmander (Pokémon Day Special!)

Happy Pokémon Day week! To celebrate, I’m turning up the heat by releasing the entire fire-starter evolution family over the next few days, starting right now with #004 Charmander. For this build, I decided to switch things up and pay homage to the original games with a retro pixel-art design. Read on to see how I battled the paper to finish this massive fold.

Capturing Nature: A Whimsical Mushroom Lightbulb Fold

Over in my Facebook group, January’s theme was “Mushrooms.” I decided to join in the fun and was captivated by a whimsical design showing fungi encapsulated within a lightbulb. It was the perfect quick project using a cut and fold technique alongside a 180 fold for a really neat finish. Pop in to see how this magical little design turned out!

The massive challenge has begun! To mark Pokémon’s upcoming 30th anniversary, I have started my mission to book fold all original 151 Generation 1 Pokémon. We begin at the very beginning with #001: Bulbasaur. Read on to see how I used a cut-and-fold technique, black cardstock outlines, and vibrant Promarker colouring to create this first entry in the series. One down, 150 to go!
