Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet!
I’m Clare — a crafter, wannabe photographer, and all-round geek. I hail from Yorkshire, born in the East and now happily settled in the West. Online, I’m better known as Clarebedo (pronounced Clare-Bee-Doo).
Crafting & Book Folding
If you’ve found me through my book folding, welcome to my favourite world!
I first tried book folding back in 2017 when I made a Mother’s Day gift — and loved it. Fast forward to 2020, I decided to try again for Christmas presents, and this time I truly fell in love with the craft.
I now specialise in the cut and fold method, which lets me push the boundaries of what’s possible and create incredibly detailed designs. What started as a hobby has grown into a little multi-pound empire: an Etsy store full of patterns and a thriving Facebook community with amazing people and free designs to share.
Book folding has become a huge part of my life, and I’m so thankful I stumbled into such a creative and welcoming world.
Other Creative Adventures
I also love trying my hand at other crafts — from card making and journaling to creating artwork in unusual ways. I’ll be sharing my creative journey here: the triumphs, the experiments, and even the occasional disasters (because they’re part of the fun too!).
Falling Back in Love with Photography
If you’re here for my photography, hello to you too!
I first studied photography at college, where our teacher asked everyone why they chose the subject. Most said it complemented their art, fashion, or design courses. When it was my turn, I simply said, “because I like taking photographs.” My teacher loved that answer — and honestly, it still sums up my relationship with photography today.
After a long break, I’ve recently picked up my camera again, and I’m sharing my new work and learning experiences here. It feels wonderful to be back behind the lens.
Just Passing By?
If you’ve landed here without any interest in crafts or photography — welcome all the same! Maybe something here caught your eye or sparked a little curiosity. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad it did, and I hope you enjoy exploring.
